| Halloween Fundraiser to Benefit the Budokan |
|
Thank you to everyone who came out to support LTroots and the Budokan of Los Angeles!
Little Tokyo Roots (LTroots), an organization for college graduates and young adults interested in the Little Tokyo community, who address issues affecting the community and ways to make a difference, hosted their annual Halloween Party Fundraiser on October 28, 2011. They host this event to benefit the various community organizations each year, and this year the Budokan was designated as the recipient of all of the proceeds raised that night.
With the venue packed, music playing, and everyone having a great time, it was an incredibly successful night which included a photo booth that captured the special moments throughout the night.
A special thank you to LTroots for hosting this fundraiser and recognizing the importance of what the Budokan of Los Angeles will bring to Little Tokyo and the community!

Budokan roughly translates as "martial arts hall" in Japanese. The name is derived from the Nippon Budokan, a large arena in Central Tokyo, Japan. The arena was originally constructed for judo competition during the 1964 Summer Olympics, but today serves as a multi-purpose facility that caters to sports, entertainment and other activities. Currently in the United States, there are numerous budokans which serve as multi-purpose centers for martial arts, team sports such as basketball and volleyball, community activities and other special events.
